Mars Hydro 2-Bucket DWC Hydroponic System with Drip Rings

£79.00

The Mars Hydro DWC bucket system grows two plants in oxygen-rich water, with top-feed drip rings to give seedlings a gentle start. It is a neat, soil-free way to grow tomatoes, chillies and peppers in a greenhouse or bright room.

Fill the buckets, set the drippers running for young plants, then switch them off once the roots reach the water. The air pump keeps everything bubbling, and the floating level indicator shows when to top up.

A DWC bucket system with drip rings for a gentle start

The wide 8 inch net pots give each plant room to anchor its roots, and reflective covers on the lids keep light off the water so algae can’t grow.

There is no digging and no compost to carry, which makes it a lovely option for patios, balconies and conservatories.

Plants that love these buckets

  • Tomatoes, one strong plant per bucket
  • Chillies, peppers and aubergines
  • Cucumbers and courgettes
  • Basil and leafy greens grown large

Why these buckets suit beginners

  • Switchable drip rings. Top-feed young plants, then turn the drippers off once roots reach the water.
  • 8 inch net pots. A wide, sturdy collar for each plant, filled with the clay pebbles supplied.
  • 8W air pump. 7 litres of air a minute through two air stones keeps roots white and healthy.
  • Floating level indicators. See the water level at a glance, no lid lifting.
  • Reflective lid covers. Keep light out of the water to stop algae.

DWC bucket questions

What size bucket is best for DWC?
A 5 gallon (about 19 litre) bucket suits one tomato or chilli plant, holding enough water for several days in summer.

Do you need a drip ring in DWC?
It helps young plants. Before roots reach the water, the drip ring keeps the pebbles and root zone moist.

How often should you change DWC water?
Every one to two weeks is usual, with top-ups of fresh water in between.

Is a grow light included?
No. Use a sunny spot, greenhouse or conservatory, or pair it with a grow light.
